History

A Brief History of K J Services Ltd.
In 1971, William Keith Thomas founded K J Services Ltd, starting with a single JCB machine for local construction projects. The company grew rapidly, acquiring more equipment and working with clients like the National Coal Board (NCB) and local authorities. By the 1980s, they had a significant presence in the coal mining sector.
A miner’s strike in 1984 forced diversification into the quarrying industry.
After recovering, K J Services outgrew its original location and moved to a larger facility in Rhymney in 1994. This expansion allowed them to expand services like machine breaking, repairs, and sales on a global scale.
