Heavy Duty Plant & Engine Mechanics Required

Outline:
To carry out the refurbishment and repair of Caterpillar, Komatsu and Volvo heavy
equipment to dealer standards and customer requirement, by carrying out a range of
reconditioning and maintenance work on those products both in our workshops and on customer sites.
Main Duties:
- Make a detailed inspection of the machine so that effective repair work can be made.
- Carry out diagnostic tests on machine and components if needed.
- Produce a comprehensive list of parts and materials required for the repair.
- Undertake overhaul, repair or refurbishment work on the machine to the agreed work plan, re-installing the original or replacement part or repairing original parts.
- Inspect and test completed machine to ensure unit is operating to specification.
Skills / Knowledge Required:
- A license to drive
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Caterpillar, O.E.M or Dealer trained.
- Practical skills in operating construction equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
- Knowledge of the use of general service manuals and computerized Service Information System (SIS) from the OEM.
- Practical experience in the mechanical fitting work on large-scale machines.
- Practical knowledge of tooling and any specialized equipment to conduct repairs.
- Practical knowledge of rigging, slinging and jacking procedures.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
